My photography, digital imagery, and mixed media works reflect my curiosity about our culture as well as the impact of industrialization on people and the environment. The photo collage portraits, from the project Close Range, are 3rd generation immigrants whose families have lived and worked on the Minnesota Iron Range. Each portrait was inspired by their personal story and how it relates to the mining environment and its ethnically diverse beginnings.
