Photography is my way of preserving all the moments of life and living, from loud and proud to the quiet and honest. Working with both traditional film and digital, I capture documentary style images that celebrate everyday life, community, and identity through an honest, observational, approach largely rooted in photo journalism and filmmaking. Much of my recent work focuses on documenting the Twin Cities; particularly the queer-centered spaces including twin cities leather, 2 different queer choruses, and queer camps for adults, while continuing to explore the enduring power of authentic human connection in the quiet in-between moments. I am particularly drawn to analog photography, developing my own black-and-white film and embracing the deliberate pace of cameras ranging little 35mm range finders up to wooden large format behemoths.
